翡翠谷 Jadeite Valley

The Jadeite Valley scenic area is in Yellow Mountains' eastern part and known as "the sweetheart valley". The water source in the valley flows from the Liandan peak and the Shixin peak. The scenic area is 6,000 meter long for tourists viewing. There are hundreds of colorful pools in the canyon. 40 colorful pools area surpasses 100 square meters, with the biggest colorful pool area nearly 1,000 square meters. The colorful pools in Jadeite Valley vary in size, shape and clear water. It is multi-colored because of the colorful rocks at the bottom of the pond and the different depth of water.  "Crouching tiger, hidden dragon" was filmed here.

翡翠谷景区在黄山的东部，又称“情人谷”，谷中之水源出炼丹峰、始信峰，游人可至的景区有6000米长，峡谷中分布着大小彩池数百个，有40余个彩池的面积超过100平方米，最大的彩池面积近1000平方米。
黄翡翠谷也叫“情人谷”，1988年上海有36位青年男女到黄山游玩，邂逅于这条峡谷中。当时，此景区尚未开发，道路坎坷，甚至无路可走，他们只能相互鼓励，相互搀扶，克服了许多困难才能以脱险。他们回到上海后，有10对结成了终身伴侣，其中有不少人还是翡翠谷内初次相识的，因此，有人提议将此谷改称“情人谷”。
